The Smycms new rehearsal season begins on 20th October with an open “meet and greet” rehearsal. Anyone interested in joining the Smycms or just finding out more about us is welcome to come to this mostly social event at St Michael’s Parish Church at the junction of Ardmillan Terrace and Slateford Road in Edinburgh. We’ll begin at 7:30 PM as we do with all rehearsals, but in this case, if you can’t make it right on time, please do still come along if you can!
The Smycms will be producing the “Hot Mikado” in May 2009. This open rehearsal is an opportunity to hear some of the music from the show as well as for prospective new members to get to know us before auditioning for membership. It also gives current members a chance to say hello after a summer apart.
If you’re interested in any aspect of the Smycms, from performing to stage crew to hair or costumes, we’d love to see you on the 20th!

The Smycms are pleased to announce the appointment of our choreographer for the 2008-2009 season. Laura Proudfoot has a strong background in dance, both on performance and choreography, and she comes to us with a variety of experience, from teaching at dancing schools to work in professional theatre. She is also an assessor for the SQA in Higher dance.
We’re sure Laura will feel right at home, as friendly as Smycms are to any new team member, but be sure to give her an extra warm welcome at the first rehearsal.

The Smycms are proud to announce our summer school workshops will take place on 20th September at the Church Hill Theatre, Morningside. Two 2 1/2 hour sessions will be offered, one in the morning and another in the afternoon, to allow you to attend your favourite two. Numbers are strictly limited, so book early to avoid disappointment!
