Starting w/c 1st Feb. 2010 we have a run of Amateur Musical productions that are an excellent opportunity to promote our own production of Bugsy Malone by handing out leaflets as the audience leave the theatre. If any Smycms member is going to see any of the following shows then remember to take a supply of leaflets with you to distibute, you will be amazed how many people take a leaflet. If you are not going to see a show you can still turn up at the end as the audience comes out and distribute leaflets. It costs nothing to do and takes about 30 mins depending on size of audience and its a great way to push ticket sales.
Firstly we have BEAUTY AND THE BEAST at the Kings Theatre, then HONK at the Broughton School Theatre followed by FOOTLOOSE at the Church Hill Theatre both from mid February and finally SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN in March
Tony will now be looking for donations from company members, friends and family, even ex-Smycms for our raffles held during the week of the show. All items greatly received (unwanted presents, things you have tired of, bric-a-brac, wine, chocolate etc, etc, anything really!!) We do six shows and say we have at least 10 prizes per show that works out as a minimum 60 prizes required. This is another great way we can raise much needed funds for the company, remember Smycms does not receive any outside funding or grants to help us stage our shows each year.

We would like to wish all our viewers and all company members as well as our Production Team and not forgetting our wonderful Piano Paul a very Merry Christmas and hope you all have a great time over the festive season. Smycms will be taking a break from rehearsals over Christmas and New Year but look forward to seeing you all back at our first rehearsal in 2010 on 4th January at 7:30 pm, and as Brucie would say “Keep Dancing” or Laura P will want to know what you have been doing with your time. Once we have finalised the cast for our production of Bugsy Malone in April 2010 we will publish a list here so please come back soon and see what your son, daughter or friend is getting up to. Till next time, all the best and i’ll be looking for you.

Good luck to everyone who will be auditioning for Principal parts this Sunday 29th November at St Michaels church. Try not to let nerves get the better of you, there’s really nothing to worry about, honest!.
You should all know what time you need to be at the church hall for your audition piece. Remember to bring an envelope with your name and address so that the audition panel can send you a letter, whether you have been successful or not. If you have not paid your subscription then you will not be allowed to audition. Tony will be on hand to collect any last minute subs.
PLEASE NOTE, the next company rehearsal will be Monday 7th December at St Michaels Church hall when the successful Principals will be announced to the company, this will be followed by a full read through of the script. All company members are asked to attend as traditionally this is when some of the smaller parts are issued, unless the Production team have other plans. Once again GOOD LUCK.
